Panama City, August 20, 2025 – As part of its commitment to sustainability and environmental education, CIFI once again joined the Guardians of the Planet program, an initiative by Junior Achievement Panama aimed at fifth and sixth grade students from Sara Sotillo School, located in the Panama Viejo sector, Parque Lefevre district.
Over the course of a week, more than 110 children participated in five 45-minute educational sessions led by program volunteers, focusing on topics such as responsible water use, proper waste management, and active protection of the natural environment.
CIFI sponsored the sessions and participated in the final day, during which the students presented creative projects that demonstrated, in a practical way, what they had learned throughout the week. The proposals reflected not only their understanding of environmental care but also the importance of taking an active role as agents of change in their communities.
“We are proud to see how, year after year, students show greater awareness of the
importance of caring for the planet, which reflects the positive and lasting impact of this program. At CIFI, we firmly believe in the value of initiatives that go beyond the classroom and plant a seed of lasting change in society,” said Chantal Henry, Human Resources Manager at CIFI.
Since 2018, CIFI has been an active part of this initiative, which directly supports Sustainable Development Goals 4 (quality education), 6 (clean water and sanitation), 10 (reduced inequalities), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), 13 (climate action), 15 (life on land), and 17 (partnerships for the goals). In this edition, several CIFI collaborators participated in the closing event, reaffirming the company’s commitment to youth education, environmental protection, and the development of more sustainable communities.
