CIFI participated with US$ 7MM in a senior loan to Airport Management Services for the relocation, construction, and operation of La Romana Airport, in the Dominican Republic.
The airport, located 15 minutes from Casa de Campo and the town of La Romana, allows for wide body aircrafts and fly tourists directly to La Romana Resorts and surrounding beach hotels bypassing the more congested Santo Domingo airport and 90-minute bus ride to La Romana.
In 2000, the airport was the newest international airport of the Dominican Republic (DR) and seen as the user-friendliest and most efficient airport of the island among aviation experts.
