• The Four Seasons project in Tropicalia contributes to sustainable tourism.
  • CIFI participates with a total of US$15 million distributed in senior debt and mezzanine.

CIFI Latam, S.A. was invited by IDB Invest to participate with US$15 million in a US$134.6 million financing structured through senior loans for US$104.6 million and mezzanine loans for US$30 million in favor of Inversiones Costa Elocuente S.A.S. (ICE), to finance the construction and operation of a tourist complex with an investment plan of US$212 million in the Dominican Republic.

The Caribbean country is preparing to inaugurate, in 2026, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences at Tropicalia, a complex of 95 rooms and 25 private residences designed to offer an immersive experience in nature without sacrificing comfort and luxury. The resort will be operated by Four Seasons Hotels Limited, a company with more than 60 years of managing high-end hotels. Its facilities include a spa, fitness center, event spaces, and various restaurants and bars. The project aims to raise the standard of luxury hospitality and set an unprecedented milestone in environmental sustainability and socioeconomic inclusion.

The hotel, projected to achieve LEED certification, integrates native materials and a tropical modernist design that blends harmoniously with Playa Esmeralda’s natural landscape. Its approach respects local biodiversity and sets a new paradigm in eco-friendly construction. It extends over 52 hectares, including 860 meters of beach in Miches, a town located in the province of El Seibo on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic.

Four Seasons at Tropicalia will generate close to 2,000 jobs during its construction phase. Thus, its development will boost the economy, market inclusion and interaction, and community progress, and Miches is expected to become the Dominican Republic’s new luxury destination.

“This project not only adds to the Dominican Republic’s tourism boom but also implements environmental measures and a biodiversity management plan that takes care of its ecosystem footprint, making it a great green, sustainable, and profitable investment project that CIFI is proud to participate in,” said Veronica Villacis, CIFI’s ESG officer.
