CIFI Secures USD 13.2 Million Financing from CABEI to Boost Private Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean

Panama City, September 21, 2026 – CIFI has secured financing from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), strengthening its capacity to continue channeling resources toward sustainable infrastructure projects across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The transaction includes an initial amount of USD 13.2 million with a tenor of up to five years, with the possibility of increasing the financing in the future. The proceeds may be allocated to initiatives in strategic sectors such as energy, transportation, telecommunications, water, and tourism in CABEI member countries.

In a region where infrastructure investment needs remain significant, access to long-term financing is essential to enhance competitiveness, drive economic growth, and expand access to essential services. This transaction reinforces CIFI's ability to mobilize private capital toward opportunities that contribute to the sustainable development of Latin America and the Caribbean.

"We are grateful to CABEI for its trust and support of our mission to advance sustainable infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean. This financing strengthens our ability to mobilize investment toward strategic sectors and continue generating economic and social impact across the region," said César Cañedo-Argüelles, CEO of CIFI.
