Climate Change Risk Screening
CIFI’s Climate Change Screening tool evaluates how vulnerable a project is to climate risks and assesses the adaptive capacity of its location. By combining insights from the Germanwatch Global Climate Risk Index and the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative (ND-GAIN), the tool produces an initial country-level risk score, then refines it using the local legal and regulatory context.
Aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, the assessment looks at both transitional risks, like shifting policies and market trends, and physical risks such as floods, storms, or long-term climate shifts. The final score considers the project’s sector and subsector, as well as global rankings, to recommend the most effective adaptation or mitigation measures. This ensures that climate resilience is built into every stage of investment.

CIFI’s Impact Calculator is a proprietary, data-driven tool designed to quantify the positive impact of every project CIFI finances.
