Financing request
CIFI welcomes financing requests from private sector sponsors seeking to develop or expand infrastructure and energy projects across Latin America and the Caribbean. While there is no standardized application form, CIFI encourages prospective clients to submit a well-structured financing request containing the documentation below.
Executive summary
A concise overview of the project, its location, sponsor(s) and their track record in the industry and region, financial summary, and timeline.
Financial model
A spreadsheet outlining projected financial performance, including key assumptions.
Sources and uses of funds
A detailed table with preliminary breakdown, specifying how the capital of the project is expected to be raised (equity, debt, mezzanine, etc.) and where it will be allocated.
Timeline
Key development milestones, status and expected commercial operation date.
Sponsor financial statements
Preferably audited, covering the three most recent fiscal years.
Borrower financial statements
If different from the sponsor.
Permits, licenses, and/or concessions
Status of key regulatory approvals required for construction and operation.
Shareholder structure
Covering ownership percentages through to the ultimate beneficial owners.
Relevant contracts
List of key contracts (e.g., offtake, EPC, O&M), with counterparties, main terms, pricing, duration, and negotiation or execution status.
ESG supporting documentation
Relevant permits or certifications on environmental, social, and governance aspects, including impact assessments, and risk mitigation plans that may apply.
Guarantees or collateral
Summary of proposed guarantees and collateral, including type, estimated value, legal status, and provider, subject to confirmation during due diligence.
Land appraisal (if applicable)
Documentation of land ownership, valuation, and legal status for project use.
