Driving Youth Professional Growth at CIFI

by Chantal Henry

At CIFI, we deeply believe in the talent of young people and the value of hands-on learning. That’s why, since 2019, we have implemented our Internship Program.

We know that real work experiences can transform the professional future of young people, while for our organization they represent a source of fresh ideas and new perspectives.

Over the years, 26 young professionals have been part of the program. Participation has been balanced between women and men, and on average they have stayed with us for nine months, enough time for a meaningful immersion in a professional environment. We have welcomed talent from universities such as Johns Hopkins (United States), Universidad Santa María La Antigua, Quality Leadership University, Aden Business School, and from Instituto Episcopal San Cristóbal at the high school level. In addition, we have adapted to the needs of each intern and the business by offering on-site, hybrid, and remote modalities.

Our interns not only take courses and training focused on their areas, but also participate in corporate and social responsibility activities. Most of them have collaborated in key areas such as Origination, Structuring, and Portfolio. Of the 26 interns CIFI has had, six received job offers in different positions and departments after completing their internship.

One recent example is Anel Zambrano, who joined in August 2023 as an intern in Audit and Compliance while pursuing a degree in International Business at Quality Leadership University. After graduation, he received an offer as a Back Office Analyst, becoming a great example of the impact this program can have on the professional development of our participants.

Our program is designed to create value for both young professionals and CIFI. Participants have the opportunity to face real challenges, apply their knowledge, and develop new skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. In turn, we offer onboarding, personalized guidance through mentors, participation in multidisciplinary teams and projects, and financial compensation aligned with their academic level.

Applications are open to high school seniors, university students, recent graduates, and foreign graduates who meet the established requirements. Applications are received via humanresources@cifi.com.

If you are looking for an experience that truly drives your development, we invite you to join our Internship Program!
