Financial and Sustainability Report
This report provides a comprehensive overview of CIFI’s financial, sustainability, and impact performance during fiscal year 2025, highlighting the institution’s continued evolution as a leading infrastructure and energy finance platform in Latin America and the Caribbean. It presents CIFI’s financial results, investment activities, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, and development outcomes, while reaffirming its commitment to internationally recognized standards such as the Equator Principles, the IFC Performance Standards, IRIS+, PCAF, and emerging IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
The report outlines the strength of CIFI’s financing platform, which reached USD 743 million in total assets under management and proprietary investments by year-end 2025. During the year, CIFI maintained solid profitability, reporting net income of USD 10.3 million and a return on equity of 9.2%, while continuing its strategic transition toward a more scalable, capital-efficient business model driven by asset management and structured finance activities. The report also highlights CIFI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its sustainability architecture through enhancements to its Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), governance framework, climate strategy, and disclosure practices.
Beyond financial performance, the report documents the measurable development impact generated through CIFI’s financing activities. In 2025, the institution’s loan portfolio supported 18,717 jobs, provided access to electricity for 735,918 people, and contributed to 668,622 tCO₂e in avoided emissions through renewable energy investments. Climate-related performance remained a key achievement, with 95% of the loan portfolio covered by carbon accounting, financed emissions totaling 13,521 tCO₂e, and the portfolio maintaining full alignment with the Paris Agreement. The report further introduces a three-tier impact reporting framework that distinguishes institutional, portfolio, and fund-level outcomes, providing greater transparency and a more comprehensive view of CIFI’s contribution to sustainable infrastructure development across the region.
