Technology - Uploading Images/Ringtones to Samsung E700 via IrDA

Part 2

Once EasyStudio has finished reading the information from your phone you can then browse all of the numbers stored in either the phones memory or on your SIM.

You can also view SMS messages that you've sent and received, you can even compose new messages with your large computer keyboard and send them straight through your phone.

A typical SMS message screen would look as below, also notice the "File Manager" button across the top of the screen which we will want to click very shortly.

Once you've located the "File Manger" button (five from the right) click it and this will launch the part of the software you are most interested in. The screen should look as follows:

In the top pane you will see "My Phone" which is a representation of the memory on your mobile. The folder "Photos" contains any pictures you've taken with the camera. "Images" contains wallpapers including animated ones and "Sounds" is where you will find your ringtones.
Expand these folders as you would if you were using Windows File Manager, as below:

As you would expect from a "File Manager" program you can now upload and download files to/from your phone.

Select the location in the top pane and the file you wish to upload in the bottom pane and then click the "upload" button. If you wish to transfer files from your phone browse to the file in the top pane, browse to a download location in the bottom pane and click the "download" button.

Once you've finished click the "Close" button and then totally close down EasyStudio. You can now remove your phone from the range of your IrDA adaptor. Either manually disable IrDA on your E700 or wait two minutes for it to be automatically disabled.
