Vendor Reviews - EuroSimm

As with NexNix I've only actually made a single purchase from
this vendor. However as the experience was very positive I shall
report this back. So please remember, the review below is based
on a single order and their success in getting it to me as
quickly as possible. I've been looking for a PDA for a little
while now. It hasn't been an easy choice what with all the
different models available. Eventually I decided that the
Hewlett Packard iPAQ 4150 was the model for me as it included
both wireless 802.11b and Bluetooth as well as plenty of other
features that I'd hopefully find useful. A quick search on
www.pricewatch.co.uk
indicated that EuroSimm were offering the second best price
however as they were holding stock and the cheapest (by only £5)
weren't I considered EuroSimm the most likely vendor that I
would be using. I did a little bit of research and found that
a lot of vendors appeared to be selling "Grey Imports" these are
models designed to be sold in the US and other countries and HP
would not honour the full warranty here in the UK or Europe.
As the price was so good at EuroSimm I decided to test out their
Customer Service e-mail and drop them a line before purchase to
make sure that the unit I would be sent would be a full UK
specification one and that I'd be able to enjoy a full Hewlett
Packard warranty. I sent an e-mail asking this question at
around 3:00pm on a Sunday afternoon - I certainly wasn't
expecting an answer on the Sunday, it was just the most
convenient time to actually sit down and correctly word the
e-mail to them. By 11:00am on the Monday morning I'd received
a reply confirming that any purchase made from EuroSimm would
indeed be for the full UK specification model with all the
warranty entitlements etc. I eventually decided to order about
a week later, actually placing the order online at around 2:00pm
in the afternoon. I was kind of hoping that maybe it would be
sent out the same day, however I eventually received a "Your
Order has shipped" message at 11:00am the following morning.
The iPAQ then arrived at around 9:00am the following day, so
that was less than 36hrs from the time I ordered to the time the
item was in my hands and waiting to be used. The item arrived
very well packaged and most importantly it was the item I'd
ordered - there was no messing about.
All in all I feel that I received great service from EuroSimm.
If I wanted to be cruel then I could say that there was no real
reason why they couldn't have got the order out on the day that
the order was placed. However it just meant that I received my
package on the Friday morning rather than the Thursday afternoon
and that certainly wasn't a problem when I consider what I've
saved over the "High Street stores" on this purchase.
