LCD Reviews - Kogi L7EH

Overview - When one looks at the monitor's name, one may be weary. However, don't let the name fool you; this monitor is chalked full of quality.

Setup - Setup for this monitor was a breeze. The VGA connection ensures compatibility will all graphics cards. The monitor is powered by a wall outlet, but you must use the included power brick for DC. Once connected, the monitor needed to be adjusted. However, this was very easy, as the monitor has an auto-tune feature accessed through the OSD. Once the auto-tune was complete, the monitor was all ready to go.

Performance:-
Desktop - The desktop image is very sharp, with good clarity on the colours. The brightness and contrast were excellent, and needed no adjusting. The colour was uniform across the screen, and there were no dead or sluggish pixels.

Games - This monitor was excellent in games. With a 20ms response time, ghosting was virtually non-existent, and the monitor easily kept up with the game (no dropped/chopped frames). Colour/Brightness/Contrast were also good, but user preference will vary. The games tested included Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament 2003, Quake 3, and Command and Conquer Generals.

Movies/DVDs - This monitor was also excellent in movie/DVD playing. Once again, there was no lag during fast movies, nor was there any chopping of frames. Colour/Brightness/Contrast were also good, but user preference will vary. The movies tested included The Matrix, Spiderman, ID4, and Blade.

Cad/3D - A topic often missed is quality in Cad and 3D modelling programs, where precision is key. The monitor has no problem displaying very fine lines, though under close examination, pixilation was apparent, but didn't have any noticeable effect on quality of fine lines. The programs tested include AutoCad2000, and several freeware 3D programs.

Final Score 9/10

Good- Awesome for games and movie, great colour reproduction. 3 year warranty.

Bad- Speakers could be better (though for size could be worse), clunky power brick.

Final word- For the price, this monitor is awesome. You cant go wrong.
