LCD Reviews - Hitachi CML175SXW
Well I have a Hitachi 17-inch LCD Model - CML175B. I've read and
looked for information about LCD's as I was needing to buy a new
monitor I had 19" CRT as the 17" LCD is very close to size :-)
For the first week I had it I didn't like it as it was too dark
in games. After posting at a few forums and here. I found a fix
for it as I had a 9700pro. Using the 3.4 cat's had a option for
Hotkeys. I setup hotkeys and in game I could adjust brightness,
and contrast. Only problem is that it doesn't go back to dark
after leaving the games :-( But You can change it easy.
I surf and read a lot and found that it is easier on the eyes
:-)
As for games I play Cs, DoD, Bf1942, Desert mod and I don't see
any ghosting or problems with the screen.
Only problem with it is that they colours are not as good as a
CRT, or that I'm not use to the colours. I do have a screen
protector (for kids or anyone that likes to touch)
One thing Looking and helped me is the heat issue. As for the
CRT I could feel the heat after long day of playing. But as the
LCD is a lot cooler and it uses half of the electricity :)
For me it was a good purchase. Just got to read and read and try
a few out before you make a big purchase like a LCD.
