High Jinx - Car Modifications

There are two incidents of slight Car Modification that I can remember happening. As both stories are quite short I've combined them here under one section.

Now as somebody who rather likes their car I should point out that this is not about damaging somebody's "pride and joy" because that is just bang out of order.

What I am talking about are some minor modifications that make things very funny, not only for all you who are outside watching as the car pulls off but also for passing witnesses and passing motorists who can also see your handiwork.

Just Married

One of the technical support people quite often gave one of the salespeople a lift to their car on a couple of evenings a week.

It didn't take long for a pattern to be noticed and more importantly for plans to formulate in certain people's minds. The two people in question here were both male which makes the "prank" work all that better.

Outside this particular place of work there are some "parking meters" which are rather expensive to park all day on (and involves a lot of meter feeding) however a lot of us moved our cars to the meters for the last part of the day.
Whilst this technicians car was parked outside one day we all got to work on the required decorations.

We had collected drinks cans from the day and attached those with string to the back of the car.
A large "Just Married" sign had been attached to the back of the car and once all of the decorations were in place we all stood outside the store waiting eagerly for things to happen.

The two of them got into the car and started to drive off. As they did so we all started to cheer and wave and soon the car ground to halt a little way up the road - I expect the noise of tin cans being dragged behind a car are enough to stop most motorists as quickly as possible.

The two of them got out to see what was causing all the noise. So there our two friends stood, beside the car with "Just Married" across the back and the obligatory tin cans also attached. I'm sure the spectators were most impressed with this "modern marriage" especially as we were all cheering and waving from the sidelines.

Spank Me!!

This one was just so simple and the fact that the motorist in question was not aware of the situation until he got home made the "prank" all that much better.

Its a major variation on the "Place a kick-me sign on somebody's back at school".

Remember "Dan" from the Birthday Treatment & Possible instigator of the Cardboard in the phone prank?
Well this just goes to show that what goes around comes around.
He was a driver of a BMW. A very impractical car just for him and especially on the wages he was probably on at the time, so we're pretty sure it was purchased for "posing purposes" only.

A large piece of card with the words "Spank Me" clearly written was carefully attached over the read number plate of the car.
For the whole journey home this was displayed to any car driving behind Dan.
The pointing, laughing and flashing of lights at him meant nothing until he was safely home and was at last able to see what had been done and soon everything made sense.

A simply prank and unfortunately not one that we could all witness, however a good one never the less.
Of course any thought that maybe "Dan" might have been stopped by the police for obstructing his number plate and then getting an on the spot fine of around £100 didn't even cross our minds.
