Lifestyle
I am not quite sure why I decided on a top-level link called
"Lifestyle".
What exactly is "Lifestyle"? I guess I should use
these pages as a "Windows into my life" but then of course I
have to question just exactly how interesting is my life?
I'm going to take a risk and go into some details
on my life. I don't know how far I'll go as I'd like some of my
life to remain private and away from the eyes of anybody who may
stumble to this little section of my site.
Also some things are just of no interest to some
people. The fact I wear Yves Saint Laurent M7 to smell nice or
use Lynx "Shower Shakes" in the shower is really of no interest
to anybody at all. However some information on what I do for a
living and maybe some "humorous" work related stories might be
of interest.
I'll just see how these pages go, if I really feel they are
getting boring then I'll move them away as a top level link and
hide them away somewhere - the beauty of personal website
design, do what you like and if it all goes wrong just hide it
away.
My Fiancée
Well there is really no argument here. In my life
the thing that takes most of my time (other than work of course)
is my fiancée Elizabeth.
I've been seeing Elizabeth for almost two years
now and she really is the best thing that ever happened to me.
I met her online through an online dating site.
There seems to be a lot of stigma attached to such services so I
really was in two minds if to add this detail or not.
I was really running out of ideas on how to meet
that "special somebody" as the club scene is really not me and I
suppose it was my own fault, I was really not putting myself in
the position where I could meet people.
On the 29th of February 2004 Elizabeth proposed to me and I
accepted. I cannot think of a happier day in my life.
On the 29th of May 2004, three months after we became engaged,
Elizabeth and I moved in together to our flat in St. Ives,
Cambridgeshire.
Well actually Elizabeth had to spend the next seven weeks living
in Ipswich working out her notice at her current job so we only
got the opportunity to keep on seeing each other at weekends.
However at last the end of term arrived and Elizabeth has now
moved in on a permanent basis and all I can say is "so far, so
good". We appear to be good for one another when it comes to
living under the same roof and there doesn't appear to be any
clashes of personality etc.
In March last year (2005) we moved again, this time into a three
bedroom semi-detached house a little further away from Cambridge
in Chatteris. The difference this time is that we are now buying
our own place. Sure the bank owns the majority of the house at
the moment but as every month passes a few more bricks belong to
us.
I managed to get Elizabeth interested in web site design and
after we registered a domain for her she soon had something
online. Her site changes on a near weekly basis and I don't just
mean the content, the whole layout will totally change
overnight. If you fancy seeing what her site looks like today
then pop along to
www.katiefinger.co.uk
and take a look.
No there is nothing rude about her domain name,
I'll let her explain her domain name choice to you.
Work
Sure if you combine time spent sleeping and time spent with
Elizabeth then maybe together they take up more of my time than
work. However the horrible truth is that nothing short of a
Lottery win is going to stop me from working for a good few
years yet.
I've worked in numerous jobs since I left college and the
majority of them I've really enjoyed. I think it is really
important to try and get a job you enjoy. There is nothing worse
than waking up in the morning and dreading a day at work!
I plan on making the work section quite detailed as I give you a
run-down on some of the company's I've worked for and a few
stories from the "work place". I'll probably have to be careful
what I actually say - I've heard of companies looking on the
Internet now a days before offering people jobs just in case
they have some deep, dark secrets to tell the world.

My Mobile Phone
Well we all own one these days, so click

my current handset.
