Domains - A guide to registering one - Part 3
Configuring your e-mail client
This is assuming that you are using Outlook
2002. Other e-mail clients should be similar to setup and this
guide should give you the general idea of what is going on.
Go into Outlook click "Tools" followed by
"E-Mail accounts"
From the next Window select "Add a New e-mail
account" and then select "POP3". Eventually you should get to a
screen similar to below:

You need to fill all of this information in
for your new account to work. Some parts are obvious, others
aren't.
Basically speaking the fields should be filled
out in the following manner:
Your Name: Insert the name you want to appear
in the "From" field of any message you send.
E-Mail Address: Insert one of your newly
created personal e-mail addresses here
Incoming Mail Server: Insert the POP server as
supplied by your ISP
Outgoing Mail Server: Insert the SMTP server
as supplied by your ISP
Username: Username for your ISP supplied
e-mail account
Password: Password for the ISP supplied e-mail
account you are using for the forwarding
Once filled in the screen should look similar to this:

Now click the "More Settings" button which should give you a screen similar to this:

In the very top box you should give this
account a friendly name, for example your name or your
girlfriends/wife's name. This makes selecting an account to send
from easier in the steps below.
Click "Next" and then "Finish"
Your account is now created. You only need to
create one account, remember all of your e-mail is actually
being forwarded to the e-mail account supplied by your ISP.
You now want to follow the above instructions to
create a new account for each of the personal e-mail addresses
you've created for your domain.
Remember the only field that will change between
the accounts you create is the "E-Mail Address" one as this is
what is displayed in the "from" field when you send messages to
people and is ultimately the address people will "reply to".
Sending e-mail messages from different
accounts
From within Outlook click the "New" button and
create an e-mail as usual.
Once your e-mail is completed and you are
ready to send it, decide which account you wish to send the
message from and select it from the "Accounts" button at the top
of your e-mail message. The picture below shows this:

With this system you can make the "from" field
of your e-mail address correspond to who is sending the message.
So I click the default "Paul" from the list
when I send a message and my girlfriend would select the
"Elizabeth" account when sending. This way it is our individual
e-mail addresses that appear in the "from" field when messages
are sent.
