Experts from CIFI’s Business Origination and Legal areas, Johanna Gomez and Rosalia Roman-Urcuyo, respectively, participated as panelists in two important events that took place in Latin America. RECAM 2019 is one of the main congresses on renewable energies in Central America and the Caribbean, held in Panama City. The Annual Congress of the International Bar Association is the largest international gathering of professionals, law firms and legal associations, held in Santiago, Chile.
Johanna Gómez, Senior Investment Officer, during the two sessions in which she participated as panelist, addressed topics such as the main limiting factors that exist in financing and the energy matrix transition in Central America and the Caribbean; best practices of investment structuring and debt in renewable energy projects, as well as the Caribbean’s dependency on fossil fuels imports. Likewise, Gómez moderated a panel that compared and reviewed the latest photovoltaic technologies in the Caribbean.
On the other hand, Rosalia Roman–Urcuyo, Lead Counsel, participated as a panelist on Mergers and Acquisitions in Latin America: Challenges and best practices in the area of compliance, in which she shared CIFI’s experience on these matters, relevant practices, and innovative solutions in deals closure. Counsels from companies such as AES, Walmart, Merck, Wework, and Copec Companies, also took part in this session.
Through these participations, CIFI shared its knowledge on financing issues, from a business and legal perspective, since it counts with the valuable representation of expert professionals in their respective areas.
